Our thriving Tennis and Bowls sections offer social and competitive play to suit everyone - from beginners to higher-standard players.

Cheam Fields Club's excellent modern sports facilities are set in pleasant surroundings. Coaching is provided for those who want to learn a new sport. There is a clubhouse with a bar and resident caterer, plus a purpose-built tennis pavilion. The Club also runs a full calendar of social events.

Joining is a great way to make new friends and access a local social club.

Bridge and yoga classes are available, open to members and non-members.

Key milestones in the Club's history

Cheam Fields boasts a long history, too - 2014 marked the Club's 100th birthday! While it is great to have such firm foundations to build on, Cheam Fields Club today is all about the present - encouraging all of its members - young and older - to get the most from their chosen sports and feel a real sense of 'belonging'.

A major resurfacing project was completed during the winter of 2022 and spring of 2023 to provide four new Tiger Turf astro courts.

Floodlights were installed on three of the Club's six AstroTurf tennis courts in the winter of 2019.

In 2014, Cheam Fields celebrated its 100th birthday by building a new tennis pavilion and upgrading the main clubhouse. These spaces are used for several Club activities and are available to hire for outside functions.

 

Social Events

The Club organises a full calendar of social events throughout the year, including regular quiz nights, live music nights and special occasion celebrations. The clubhouse bar opens every night in the summer - and regularly during the winter. Tennis and Bowls memberships include Social club membership.

Our highly popular Wednesday Supper Nights take place each week and are a clubhouse favourite, along with regular Darts nights and Friday games nights. A fun and highly popular Short Mat indoor bowls league takes place on Monday evenings during the winter.

 

Clubhouse and pavilion hire

Whether you need a handy venue for a meeting or want to hold a larger party or event, the main clubhouse building and tennis pavilion at Cheam Fields Club are available to hire.  

The main clubhouse can be hired out for parties and other events. It's an excellent venue with a bar, dance floor and resident caterer. The clubhouse can accommodate up to 100 guests.

The purpose-built pavilion has its own facilities and is ideal for smaller groups or meetings. Weekly yoga classes to promote health and wellbeing - offered at competitive rates - are run in the pavilion by King King Tsang www.yogawithkingking.com.
