General Tennis news
Court Resurfacing. Volunteers are needed to enable this significant project to move forward. Please contact a Member of the Committee if you can offer expertise.
Sara Tresadern is stepping down from her role as the Tennis Section's current Welfare Officer. Sara has been a key Member of the Tennis Committee for many years and has worked in various volunteer roles. A huge thank you to her. Sara will remain in post until a replacement can be found.
The Tennis Section's first American Tournament of 2022 will take place on Sunday 2nd January at 10am. Entries have closed but a reserve list is in operation. Please sign up here.
Thank you so much to all of our Club volunteers for their unstinting work over the past year. Our volunteers play a key role in enabling the Club to look great and run smoothly. Junior Tennis
The Club is fielding a number of Junior teams in this winter's Surrey National League Junior Team Trophy. Division winning teams go forward to compete in this competition's 'knockout' stages that start next January.
Saturday morning Junior tennis coaching sessions will resume on 8th January 2022. Please use the MDL Coaching app to book all Junior coaching sessions.
Young Adults Tennis
The Monday evening session for Young Adults is extremely popular and very well supported. The lively session runs from 7pm-9pm (under floodlights) and is a great way to play tennis and socialise with friends. Please contact Lauren Waller for further information.
Senior Tennis
As usual there's been lots going on over the early winter months, including a full range of social and coaching opportunities, plus ladies', men's, vets and mixed Surrey league matches. Latest match results can be found in the newsletter, and online.
Beginners and improvers looking to play midweek tennis are really enjoying the new fun and friendly afternoon Social session taking place on a Thursday afternoon, from 1.30pm. These sessions are run by Emma Labrum and Sara Tresadern.
Also aimed at beginners and improvers, a NEW Tuesday (12 noon to 1pm) midweek group daytime coaching session has been launched. This session is being run by Club coach Rachel Buwalda.
