Tennis
Cheam Fields Club's Tennis section is an affiliated member of the Lawn Tennis Association.
The Club gained national quality accreditation in 2010 when it was awarded the LTA and Sport England's prestigious Tennis Clubmark status. The Club welcomes players of all standards and offers a range of social and competitive tennis at various levels.
Cheam Fields Tennis offers:
- 6 all-weather Astroturf courts.

Social Playing Times
There are lots of great social tennis sessions running year-round to cater for all playing abilities. These sessions are managed by experienced organisers.
Monday morning, from 9 am - all levels.
Monday evening, from 7 pm - Group coaching available with David Baxendine.
Tuesday evening, from 7 pm - Young Adults tennis session.
Wednesday morning, from 9 am - all levels.
Wednesday Competitive evening, from 6 pm - team players and higher levels.
Thursday afternoon, from 1.30 pm - all levels.
Thursday evening, from 7 pm - all levels.
Friday afternoon, from 1.15 pm - improvers.
Saturday afternoon, from 2 pm - all levels.
Sunday afternoon, from 2 pm - all levels.
Competitive Tennis
Competitive tennis is high on the agenda for adults and junior players, with several men's, ladies’ and mixed teams in the Surrey and Dorking and Leatherhead Leagues. Click here for fixtures and Wilson Surrey League match results.
The tennis events calendar includes our annual Tennis Championships and a biennial Doubles Handicap tournament. 'Fun' tournaments and tennis events are also organised throughout the year.
Coaching
Group and private coaching is available by arrangement.
The Club boasts an enthusiastic and thriving younger membership and provides a FREE coaching session for Juniors and Young Adults on a Saturday morning.
The inspirational coaching programme at Cheam Fields is run by the Club’s award-winning LTA-accredited team, led by Head Coach Mark Love CCA of MDL Coaching. The coaching programme extends across all age groups with sessions for all playing standards. There is something for everyone, from fun Beginner/Improver lessons and 'Rusty Rackets' sessions to more advanced coaching.
Adult coaching with our MDL coaches

Adult group coaching sessions are held on Monday evenings with David Baxendine. David can also be booked for individual lessons by arrangement.

Innovative crèche tennis sessions for young mums, developed by Bryan Jepp, take place on a Friday from 1.15pm during term time (dads also welcome). Crèche tennis sessions include a care facility for young children. Balls provided. Non-members welcome. There is a small fee for this session. Please email for further details.
