Breakpoint 2019 - over £800 raised
Posted by angela james on 22 July 2019
Our Breakpoint 2019 Charity Day on June 29th raised an amazing £801.47!
This event really served to highlight the amazing generosity of our Club members. Thank you to everyone who kindly donated and also big thanks to those who gave their time to make this a special day for the Club - and the cause.
The Club will be donating £550 to the Bright Ideas for Tennis ‘I Play 30’ programme which provides FREE tennis activity sessions for adults and children with learning, sensory and physical disabilities. And the balance of £251.47 will go to support our new community tennis project called ‘Style-Out Tennis for Girls’, innovative tennis and life skills sessions that will promote tennis for fun and wellbeing.
Thanks go to each and everyone on the Cheam Fields ‘team’ including those who laboured so hard before the event, and on the day, to make the grounds look so inviting; all of our amazing stallholders and the many volunteers – adult and junior - who worked tirelessly despite the searing temperatures; our coaches and speakers who all gave their time for free; and of course our fabulous supporters, participants and spectators.
Finally congratulations to Robyn Moore and Bright Ideas for Tennis team for completing this mammoth 30-day fundraising effort and for raising everyone’s awareness of Mental Health and the importance that sports like tennis can play in people’s mental wellbeing.
