Courts open for restricted play
Posted by angela james on 18 May 2020
THE tennis courts opened for play again last Thursday, with strict safety and social-distancing rules in place set out by the Club, in line with both the latest Government and LTA guidelines. Everyone will have received all of the relevant information by email. If you need any clarification on any aspect of this, please contact Bryan Jepp.
There are a few important Club rules to be aware of before using the courts, which you will find below:
SOME USEFUL INFORMATION
- You must book your court before turning up to play and adhere to the booking instructions that have been provided. Court usage is currently limited to courts 1, 4 and 6 to allow just one singles pair, or family from the same household, to spread out safely. Court time is restricted to two bookings per person per week.
- Members can now register to use the ClubSpark booking system. Or courts can be booked by emailing [email protected]
- Court 1 to be accessed via the gate on Meadowside Road. Courts 4 and 6 can be accessed from the court gates on Devon Road. The Pavilion access gate NOT in use and this area is out of bounds.
- The gate locks have been changed as advised on Bryan's recent email. Please make sure you know the new code.
- If you can cycle or walk to the Club then that is being actively encouraged.
- Both players must supply a set of preferably new, uniquely marked tennis balls. Households can play with the same balls but they should be marked in case they stray onto other courts. New balls can be pre-ordered from the Club. Only pick up or touch your own marked tennis balls.
- Don't forget to bring all you need to play - including plenty of water - and then don't forget to take everything home again!
Hope everyone thoroughly enjoys their tennis.
