First match of season for Lady Bowlers

IT was a sunshine and showers day for Cheam Fields lady bowlers when they played their first league match on Saturday, 15th May, away to Old Coulsdon.
Sylvia Russell reports: "The match was very nearly postponed, as it was raining heavily at the official start time. However, after 15 minutes, the skies cleared. Showers were the order of the day and we spent the afternoon taking wets on and off, but enjoying sunshine in between. A thunderstorm after 16 ends resulted in a premature end to the match, but enough ends had been played for the scores to stand.
"The result was an honourable draw, with one rink winning 12-8 and the other losing 11-15. No-one was really match sharp as this was the first league game since September 2019!"
