American Tournament - a great start to 2023

WHAT a great turnout for the Tennis Section's popular New Year American Mixed Doubles tennis tournament on 2nd January. Twenty-four eager players, happy to work off the excesses of Christmas, took part.
First pairs were drawn to play seven-point games, with organiser Nick keeping all the scores. Players then either split, or moved up and down the courts to play five matches in total.
Congratulations to the eventual men's and ladies' prize winners and runners-up: Sinan and Simon, and Angela (on countback!) and Vicky.
Big thanks go to Nick for organising the tournament for everyone; also to Wendy for the amazing cakes, and everyone else who contributed tood.
