Exciting times ahead as Cheam Fields Tennis looks towards the Autumn.
LOTS of great new initiatives to report and plenty happening both on and off the courts at Cheam Fields Tennis. The latest Tennis Newsletter has now been sent out to members' inboxes. Please find a copy here:
Lots to look forward to - a summary of key points
Off court
- The Tennis Committee has been strengthened further with Taryn Selvon taking on the role of Intermediate Section Rep and Alex Tresadern taking over as Men's Captain.
- A smart new clock has been installed on the outside of the pavilion, sponsored by Head Coach Mark Love (MDL Coaching).
- Ball recyling is now underway at the Club. Please place your old tennis balls in the container next to the pavilion.
On court
Senior tennis:
- The biennial Drawn Handicap Doubles Tournament is underway with Finals Day on 10th October.
- Social tennis sessions are now cranking up again. Sunday afternoon and Thursday evening sessions are running successfully and safely in line with guidelines. Monday and Wednesday morning sessions are set to start at the beginning of September. News about the return of the Club's Saturday and Wednesday evening sessions is also expected shortly.
- Team tennis is also set to return by October following the launch of the Wilson Surrey Winter Leagues for 2020/21.
- Rusty Rackets coaching sessions for beginners and those returning to tennis are going to be started on a Saturday from 12pm to 1pm. Fun and friendly. Please contact Rachel Buwalda.
Junior tennis:
- Saturday Junior coaching mornings will begin again from 5th September.
Young Adults tennis:
- A floodlit tennis session for Young Adult players (aged 18 to 28) is being planned for the autumn. Interested? Please contact Lauren Waller.
