Tennis Newsletter for December
Posted by angela james on 26 December 2020
THE Tennis Committee's Newsletter for December landed in inboxes a few days before Christmas. It's been a challenging year but the Club has remainded resilient and adapted to meet the changes. Lots to report - and plenty of success stories. If you haven't received your copy, please find a downloadable version below:
Thanks go to all those who do so much for the Club behind the scenes - our Committee Members, numerous volunteers, and of course not forgetting all the Members who continue to support the CLub and made the most of things in 2020.
A FEW IMPORTANT KEY POINTS
General
The Club moved into Tier 4 restrictions on 20th December. Please keep up-to-date with latest LTA and Club 'play safe' guidance.
PLEASE remember to cancel ASAP any unwanted courts, or reduce time booked if not required. Court space is now at a premium and this is in fairness to all.
Court resurfacing is now an imminent requirement and a project sub-committee has been formed. If you want to have your say, please email [email protected]
Check out the Newletter for a breakdown of results from the recent Membership Survey.
The ball recycling scheme has already raised £50 for the Club. Please keep dropping your old tennis balls into the bin by the pavilion.
Junior Tennis
The Club fielded a number of Junior teams in the Surrey National League Junior Team Trophy, with the 16U boys' squad topping their group. Great start everyone.
Check out the Newsletter to view the winning entries in the junior Poster Competition.
Young Adults Tennis
The fortnightly group social sessions for Young Adults have proved popular and will resume as soon as is possible. Contact Lauren Waller for further information.
Adult Team Tennis
Sadly the Wilson Surrey Winter league ended up being cancelled and league positions will be held over until next Winter.
