THERE's lots going on at Cheam Fields Bowls during the summer and early autumn months, with social and competitive playing opportunities for bowlers of all levels to enjoy.
Bowls members will find all the latest news in the August BOWLS NEWSLETTER, which has recently landed in inboxes.
AUGUST NEWSLETTER - A QUICK ROUNDUP
The Tennis players vs Bowlers social match on Sunday 23rd July was a great success. Some 40 participants enjoyed a great afternoon out on the green followed by an evening barbecue. Please find a more detailed report here.
A warm welcome to new Bowls Members
Cheam Fields Bowls is delighted to have welcomed 24 new and returning bowls members this season. If you're not currently a member, why not consider joining up and joining in the fun?
Regular 'Club Night' on a Thursday evening
The 'Give Bowls a Go' sessions, held on a Thursday evening from 6pm, have proved so popular they will now become a regular 'Club Night' fixture.
The Club Night session is still aimed at anyone who is thinking of taking up bowls, returning to bowls, or considering joining up. But there will also be increasing opportunities for more competitive play. Either way, this is a great way to meet new people and enjoy learning more about the game of bowls. And, of course, the bar will be open.
Surrey honours for two Cheam Fields bowlers
Congratulations Joel Roebert and Phil Bailey who have been awarded their Surrey badges. Both men made it through to the recent Surrey County Finals, held on 30th July, where Joel took the win in the Unbadged Singles, and Phil was runner-up in the Officers Bowl.
Ladies compete for league win
Cheam Fields ladies have reached the semi-finals stage of the Smith Two-Wood Trophy Triples competition. They will play their semi-final match on Saturday, 19th August at Banstead Neville Bowls Club. The final and third/fourth place play off will also take place on the day. Supporters very welcome, but please advise if you plan to go.
There's lots more information in the August newsletter, so please take a look. Enjoy.
