Breakpoint 2019 Charity Day

PLEASE SAVE THE DATE - SATURDAY 29TH JUNE FROM 1.30pm

As you will know from recent communications, Cheam Fields Tennis is delighted to be one of the 46 UK venues, and only three Surrey clubs, to host a Breakpoint 2019 Charity Day. Breakpoint 2019 aims to raise awareness of Mental Health and raise money for the Bright Ideas for Tennis disability tennis programme called ‘I Play 30’.

This exciting fundraising campaign kicks off on 1st June. Events are being held each day at venues around the UK, culminating on 30th June at the AELTC Community Sports Ground at Raynes Park.

The afternoon’s packed programme at Cheam Fields is still being finalised but is due to start at 1.30pm and finish around 6pm.

Robyn’s amazing challenge

At each event, Robyn Moore (aged 43) will be undertaking a very special challenge. Her goal is to hit 200,000 shots in 30 days covering 5 million metres. That’s 1 metre for every adult individual in the UK who experiences mental ill health! Robyn was diagnosed with an extreme form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in 2016. Tennis has helped her to pull through after horrific trauma in her life.

Come to see Robyn in action on Day 29 of the fundraising tour at Cheam Fields on 29th June.

How you can help

We now need support from our Members to help put on a sensational day’s programme, to create the best ‘buzz’ ever at Cheam Fields Club, and to give Robyn the courage to complete her very tough challenge.

Whether you are a Tennis, Bowls, Bridge or Social Member, Adult or Junior, come along to watch or participate in the afternoon’s events and encourage as many of your friends, family and neighbours to come too.

And please also start spreading the word now on social media - and in every way you can. Follow Breakpoint 2019 from start to finish on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Any help you can give – through a kind donation, or by giving some time to bolster the Cheam Fields Tennis team effort – will be hugely appreciated. A percentage of Club donations on the day will also support our community tennis coaching programmes. Plus you can support by giving direct through the charity’s JustGiving website.
